dog killed 15 hens and one is left with dog 2 dog bites. I have baytril. but not sure what to use.

Have you tried taking out one of the more docile hens and pairing the two together? Or take out the most aggressive hen for a couple of days, this may help change the dynamics of the pecking order.

That is such a good idea. A couple of times we had to rearrange chickens and put them into different cages, and they were shook up enough, their behaviour changed.

I have tried putting Princess back into the flock and the girls are just so mean when they are feather to feather beak to beak. Through the wire of her window they are much gentler. But I wanted them to be cooped together for the winter but I am not sure it will happen.

. Her comb is very premature too. I guess from the set back of the injury. She looks much younger than she is. I wish there was more I could do for her but I am at the maximum number of birds for my city ordinance so chicks are out of the question.

. She seems happy though. She pecks and clucks and sings to me when I am out there with the girls!
This is "Quiet" she is a red sexed link, I think. She is 6 months old, she is small her feathers drag around. she kinda looks like she has been out all nite. And she is a loner. The Showgirl in the nex picture is 4 months old and they are about the same size. Quiet used to be called Dwarf. Because she seemed to never grow. Kind of like Princess. Except Quiet is not congenial.

Those are sweet girls! I wish I had some one to pair up with Princess! It's not that simple to pick out a meek bird from a flock of 4. :(. But I am going to try making her a leg brace! I think it might work! It will help pull her wonky leg under her. Everyone I have talk on on my Facebook that is poultry related tell me I should look into resetting her hip? So she may be living with a dislocation. :( but I cannot reset it. I don't know anything about chicken parts! I guess I will look for a vet to look at her. If the brace doesn't work.

The brace is made from upholstery foam. I think I am going to try a car wash sized sponge. I can get one at the dollar store! And then a few rubber bands. The brace my give her more mobility. She can move around but drags that leg. Ad if the leg was in position and not able to spraddle out like it does maybe she could use it to actually walk! I am excited to try it! Now I have to get to the dollar store!

It's worth a shot! You don't know if you don't try.

Update:
I was looking at my hawk attack girly yesterday, and picked a few more icky feather pins out of her side (I think they're old and slightly imbedded, they look dry and stubby). The wound has closed up completely now. As I picked a pin out, a bit of puss came out. My fiance helped me pick at her some more and we found a small hole left behind by the pin and we pulled some yellow tissue out of it. It looks as if it opened into her chest cavity. A small piece of debris came out and some more yucky yellow tissue and puss came out. Washed it out with some peroxide and let her be on her merry way. She looks much better and this is probably just the tail end of her healing journey. It didn't smell too awful, so I will keep an eye on it and clean it out again if needed.

Her back and wing feathers have started growing well, the ones on her side don't really want to come in too well yet, but she is doing great overall.
