HI all, neighbor dog dug under chain link fence, broke into my duck house @ night, killed 18 of my layer ducks and the drake. 3 left have stopped laying, from the traumatic experience. Having very hard time finding anyone in Shasta County area with khaki Campbell ducks, ducklings, or fertile eggs for sale. Really don't want to wait till April/May to order from some hatchery. Any help/info would be appreciated.

Before getting anymore ducks you need to take care of the problem by addressing the dog and fixing the fence. Have you told the dog owner about what happened and how they are going to make it right with you? Then my next step would be to dig down below the fences and put some heavy duty hardware cloth no less the a foot in the ground then attach it to your fence. This will deter dogs, skunks, raccoons and any other critters that dig there way to a meal. You can check mypetchicken.com or ebay for duck eggs. Yep the sell hatching eggs on there too!
Good luck to you and sorry about your ducks!

Craigslist is a good place to look for poultry. We got two bantam layers from a very sweet lady's ad.

I am so sorry for your loss! How devastating!
