I have four Great Pyrenees dogs. Two are the parents and the other two are their puppies. One girl and one boy. The parents’ names are Duke and Duchess. I want to keep the royalty theme. The children of a Duke and Duchess is a Lord and a Lady. But there’s a problem. Calling a dog lord is weird. Prince and Princess are cute dog names but they aren’t the children of a Duke and Duchess. There’s another option of saying the actual names of a Lord and Lady such as George and Jane. But, does that get too complicated? Quick answers will be appreciated because they have appointments today! Thanks!

Hmmmm... How about Lord George, but call him George, as you said...? Lady Jane can be called Lady or Jane.

Lord and Lady Kiddos?

Some quick Google info:

In addition, the younger son of a Duke or Marquis is called a Lord; when used in this way, the appellation is a courtesy title intended to show that the bearer is from a noble family. Lady is an appropriate title for a woman who holds the rank of Marchioness, Countess, Viscountess or Baroness.

Sir is used to address a man who has the rank of baronet or knight; the higher nobles are referred to as Lord. Lady can also be used of the wife of a lower-ranking noble, such as a baron, baronet, or knight.

The parents’ names are Duke and Duchess. I want to keep the royalty theme.

After royalty comes nobility, and these titles derive from their French antecedents. The five noble ranks, in descending order, are:

duke/duchess
marquess/marchioness
earl/countess
viscount/viscountess
baron/baroness
Interesting!

Something to ponder over my coffee. Thanks.

I've had dozens of dogs over the years, and 2 things I've found are : The names don't really matter to the dog, it's more of an owner thing, and name them something that you're not uncomfortable with yelling at 2 in the morning out the window !

Other than that, I learned from my K9 training years, is that using a 2 syllable name, with one syllable commands, seems to confuse young dogs much less.

Sorry, not much help with actual names, but to me, dog names are of a personal nature, usually involving traits, habits, etc. of each individual animal.
