Dog- need advice.

So I have a Lab and Great Pyrenees mix. He is 3 years old and is neutered. He never had agression towards other animals till we moved to our new piece of land a year or so ago.
Since moving here he has killed alot of things. Our chickens free ranged and then one day we came home to half the flock about 10 dead. We stopped that by keeping them in the coop, but he got through the neighbors fence and killed all theirs too.
After that we completely fenced our property in nonclimb 6 foot wire and nothing is around the fence for him to use to get out.
Well that was the beginning. He killed all the rabbits on the property which was fine since they were pests. Then some stray cats I think 3 so far which came into the property.
Now here is my biggest issue he has now killed 4 dogs. All of them have came into our property and into his allowed zone from his collar. We have him centered in the property with a shock zone collar to prevent him escaping the property on top of a very secure fence. He is not allowed to be close to any of the perimeter fencing by like 25 feet.
This past week was his latest victim and I have been aruging with my husband for a week on how to handle this situation.
Despite the fencing and zone collar he is still killing things.
We have a small child with another on the way and I am worried this aggressive behavior may transfer to kids too.

I feel like he has done enough to be euthanized. Please help! Give some advice or reassure us that this is the right decision.
How are other dogs getting in his allowed area if there is a no climb 6ft fence? We have 2cane corso females. Both will kill or attack other animals that ain't ours but would never hurt our kids, ages 20months 6yrs and 7yrs. So it just depends on what yal think

Your dog is killing relatively large animals. That isn't just an active prey drive. A dog that kills rabbits and chickens might be one with an active prey drive, but yours is showing some serious warning signs. Hm, no, check that- he's beyond warning signs.
Put him down before he kills someone else's beloved pet, or seriously harms a human.
Keep in mind, that shock collar is not foolproof. If he charges at the line and manages to get over it, the collar will shock him if he tries to go back. Once he's out, he's out.

stop jest find him a new home he doesn't deserve to die! think of what your doing! ending a life! he could be good again find him a new home please try!please1

If this dog is rehomed and attacks or kills some animal or God forbid a child at this new home you (prior owner) could find themselves in court. Just telling them he “has issues” won’t count for anything.

He has definitely been on edge with guests. He gets put in a kennel when we have people over. His collar doesn't allow him to go in the front of the house just the back few acres. But I still OPT for the kennel when we have people over riding out in the arena.
But this weekend our 3 year old was on his nerves a bit and made a fast movement at her. No teeth or open mouth but it made me nervous enough to put him in the kennel.

Ok, I have a dog aggressive dog. She doesn't like other small dogs at all, though she's never killed one (she's small herself). She's fine with most other animals though, and is great with people and small children. She is a bit crazy, but not a threat unless it's a teacup anything. We make sure she has no access to other small dogs as a result.

What you are describing is a severely unhinged dog without a chance of rehabilitation. Even my dog trainer husband agrees he needs to be fully caged 100% of the time (sucky life and still possibly could hurt someone/something if he got loose or they went in with him) or put down. Preferably put down immediately so nobody gets hurt, especially your child. At this point it's only a matter of time.

I'm sorry you are going through this, I can't imagine the conflict this has caused.

The cats more than likely climb the wood poles. The small dogs have either came under the gates which obviously have small clearance to swing or dug a hole. Unfortunately I cant keep everything out despite wanting to. Even the gates are nonclimb panel gates.

The next question is ... would YOU take this dog? I seriously doubt anyone ( except maybe a dog fighting ring) would take a gamble on him.

If your SO won't listen about putting the dog down, I'd make an anonymous call to the local humane society about him killing dogs and cats. I'm sure whoever owned those dogs will back said anonymous caller up if asked. It'd be better to do things with a minimum of fuss, but if the fuss of getting the humane society involved is the only way, it's the only way.

Most of my dogs have killed chickens, mine, at one time or another. My lead dog Lucy, killed 30+ in one day and smaller numbers later until she was about 2 years old. She also participated in killing two dogs and mauled others as part of the team. She is now my best dog and extremely trustworthy with the chickens of all ages even when I am not present. She destroys raccoons and has killed a fox by herself. She gets along well with kids.

I have lots of resources to go with the dogs. If resources too tight, then a dog may not be in the best situation, especially with a LGD's and their crosses.
