Dog- need advice.

Something is not right. Dogs can determine when another is a nut job and will give it a wide birth. How are the outside dogs easily getting past the 6' no-climb fence where they can be killed?

You have a responsibility to your neighbors and your family, and also to your dog. Living in a cage with a shock collar is not a good quality of life. It would be more humane to him to euthanize him.

I have to agree here, even though..I used to rescue and foster. That means, I believe in ..saving..a dog from euthnasia. Now...this dog, has something going on inside ...he is..not..normal. I can honestly say, that there is a very very low possibility of this dog turning that personality around. Just because he's doing this, hard to love, he himself doesn't deserve to be living as he..has to right now. Children? Oh, that's the deciding factor!!!

Trust me my husband and I have fought tooth and nail over this damn dog!

Daughter and SIL had the same argument over a very dominant German S H pointer male until the day he growled at their daughter.

My daughter had her face ripped open by a Rhodesian Ridgeback that had never shown human aggression prior to the attack on her - he did however have a history of aggression/killing against other animals. The owners had him euthanized a day too late for my daughter.

Please don't make the same mistake or pass the problem on to another person.

We have multiple gates for the property. They are non climb paneled gates also, but gates have small clearances off the ground to be opened... I am assuming that's how. I have noticed once a hole dug under the fence in an area he can not get to. So I guess that's how that one got in.

The cats more than likely climb the wood poles. The small dogs have either came under the gates which obviously have small clearance to swing or dug a hole. Unfortunately I cant keep everything out despite wanting to. Even the gates are nonclimb panel gates.

That's what my neighbor keeps saying haha but I just can't take the chance of it being my kid or someone else's.

A dog that defends its territory with that degree of violence is not a dog that is safe to have around. You can't blame the dog, but you can decide that euthanasia is the best option. By that, I mean you don't treat the dog like something evil, you treat it like an animal with a quirk of some sort that makes it particularly dangerous. No blame, no anger, just logic.

Did I read here that he recently made a 'sudden move' towards your toddler? That's just not acceptable, regardless of anything else he's done.
Also, owning a dog who works to kill any animal he meets is a huge liability; how much have you already paid out in damages? Heartbreak over pets killed? Do you still have farm/ homeowner's insurance, or been canceled?
Apparently your yard isn't escape proof either, as he's been out there doing serious damage to others.
This isn't a good story, and can't have a good ending.
I agree that euthanasia is the best (only) option here.
