Dog- need advice.

My newest dog - that's her in my avatar - was found wandering the back roads of Georgia. She was all of three months old - no more than 14 weeks. She was the lucky one. I wonder how many of her litter-mates didn't make it that far.
There are so many wonderful dogs without a problem that only need a home. I promise you they KNOW they’ve been rescued. It’s like they are such grateful animals that they never do anything to upset you or displease you.

What happens if you take him somewhere where there are dogs?

Did you stop the socializing when you moved? trainjng and socializing is a life long thing, especially with dogs that have tendacies like yours does. I know that if I stop for even a little bit bringing my dogs places they back track slightly so it's important to keep it up. Sometimes life happens and there usnt time to do what you used to, but that could be part of the problem and you may have to start at square one.

Is there any trainers in your area or within driving distance?

Now a days he will behave in our presence around other dogs and animals even chickens. He won't even look at the chickens if I'm outside with them. But the second he is not being watched or wonders off etc it's on.

He's never stopped being socialized. We prefer not to take him now because we literally have to keep him on a leash so we can have our eyes on him 24/7. Big dogs are no worries. He doesn't bother them one bit.

We have no fence up but i can tell you now our 125lb and 110lb cane corsos will eat your tail up if your not supposed to be here animal or person but they have never harmed our kids. Sadie is now 8yrs old and Sydney is 3yrs old. Never had a issue. Don't blame a dog for human ignorance or human negligence
Now I will say it will be a bad day for anyone who enters my gated property without the knowledge of us. My seven dogs will see to that. However, not one of them would or has ever killed anything, let alone a person. Once these dogs know we are okay with the visitor(s), they are okay with them too. They are protective, not aggressive.

I’m thinking her plate is a little full with a toddler and one on the way. Did you hear her when you read her posts?? Try to have empathy and put yourself in HER shoes. I’m sure if she could she’d call Ceaser 911. But realistically....realistically just think for a moment.

Yes the plate is getting Fuller! Lmao we try to do as much as we can with all our animals. But sometimes it's just not possible! Between horses, cows, chickens, dogs kids.. and actual jobs. There is only so much time in the day unfortunately.

So because ones plate is full, we decide to end a life? Do you know how many dogs die a day because life happens and plates are full?

The OP has stated this dog is actually fine around animals when supervised, it's when he is not supervised that there is trouble. Sounds like he is entertaining himself. There is no boundaries. Let him out to go to the bathroom, bring him back in. He doesn't get freedom if he doesn't behave. The problems started when he got freedom he wasn't ready for. So instead of jumping to euthansia, wouldn't just supervising the dog be the next logical step? How about finding a home without kids or dogs?

The dog is going to pay with his life because yes the plates full and he no longer fits the lifestyle. It's that simple. Dogs are not disposable. They are a life long commitment. When things change, it's up to us to do right by them. There are lots of options here, starting with giving this dog boundaries and way way less freedom to do what he wants.

I completely understand things change and I'm not judging the OP, but I am sticking with their are other options. The dog was a good dog in the past, that doesn't just change. All I'm suggesting is to look at what changed and how to make it like it was before.

I wish all the best to the OP

Great Pyrneese are used to protect and are one of the top dogs used to kill animals that come on their property. They are super protective and territorial. It is what they do.
It is not a GP’s nature to kill first and ask questions later. They are some of the most laid back dogs ever, to humans and other animals, alike. Now granted, they are not cuddly, lap dogs. They are working dogs and take flock protection very seriously. They are ‘guardians of the flock,’ not killers of the flock. And I dare say a good one would not kill a small animal without it posing a threat to its flock/herd/etc., much less its own charge. Just my opinion.

He does not do good inside. He is not a house dog. He is a nervous wreck inside the house and paces around whining until he is back outside. He has been that way since day 1 as a pup.
Supervision can only be done when we are here. Unfortunately we have to work so that leaves alot of time that he cant be supervised.
I would hate to lock him up in a small space for all the time we cant supervise him. I mean even when we are home we arent staring out the window for the off chance that we can catch something.
We have fenced the property then when that didn't work we limited the space to just where the collar allows. It seems like limiting the space has no effect unless he is completely caged. In which he would be miserable.
As far as people wanting him we have tried multiple times to relocate him. We fully disclose his behaviors and pretty much no one wants him after that.
Shelters won't take him and dispite efforts no farm hands even want him afraid for the livestock offspring. Lambs, calf's, baby goats etc.. all small enough to be seen as a fun toy.
