Hello,

I have a problem with my dog, and I want some input before I take her to the vet.

I have A nine-year-old Saint Bernard purebred named lady bird. I woke up this morning, and her head was on my laptop. I grabbed my laptop, and there was blood on it. There was also Blood on the couch.

I checked her head for cuts, and there were none. I then discovered that the blood was coming from inside her mouth.

I suspect she has an infection somewhere in her mouth, Or cracked tooth or something. I'm not sure.

Here's my question. I DO plan on taking her to the vet, But until then, is there anything I can do for her to help her not be in pain?

I had a dog with a cracked tooth, unknown to me, and it got infected before I realized what happened. Luckily, I made it to the vet in time, who said I made it just in time ….. Another day, and he would have been a goner !

Please don't hesitate to get the earliest vet appointment you can !!!

Good luck.

Does the dog appear to be in pain bad enough to prevent eating?

Aspirin is okay for *most* SHORT term...

Getting old is tough, hope Lady Bird recovers quickly! :fl

No, it's not preventing eating. However, it is in enough pain where if her jaw is bumped, she yelps a little bit. Only sometimes.

I agree, getting old of tough. She does have joint problems, common in Saint Bernards.
