dog rescue retired now filling pens with poultry and meat rabbits

Welcome to BYC!! :celebrate
I know there are plenty of people here that would love to hear about your dog experiences! There is a dog thread that you can introduce them and a dog feeding thread where there was quite a bit of talk about raw vs kibble (the thread is slightly old but we would love to hear your opinion)

I think that's nice of you to do so much work for your dogs. I bet it makes a difference. I added meat rabbits for our dogs as well.

I hope you find all the information you are looking for here! Definitely feel free to ask if you have any unanswered questions. We like hearing stories and how things are going as well.

Thanks for joining and welcome to BackYard Chickens!

I retired from dog rescue since May 2023, due to husband dealing with dementia and I am now "old". I raised 30 male Pekins, butchered all but 5 from Metzer Farms. Then a week after ordering them I ordered 3 female Pekins, 3 buffs, and 3 heavy layer white ducks to add to the 3 Swedish layers and 7 Muscovy girls.

I also have 8 chicken hens and two roosters and 5 surviving youngsters our of 8 (the dogs killed three)...

The economy as it is I have become a prepper of sorts and this summer added 3 female meat breed rabbits and a buck.

I am a farmer's daughter who married a city boy and we live in southeast Missouri. We currently have 16 dogs on the property, nine are ours and seven are on a raw meat diet. I butcher the deer, beaver, beef, chickens, ducks, etc to feed the dogs.

So I know a good bit about raw diet nutrition and spend a good deal of time researching nutrition for dogs, not curious and learning what I can about poultry.

I had raised poultry back in the 90's and early 2000. They stopped when I got into dog obedience training then rescue.
Welcome!
What kind of dogs do you have?
Pics?
I love dogs.
