Dog story w/ pic, HAPPY ENDING! and update

Glad I feel so good inside my heart! That's really the best repayment. I have no regrets that I stopped to pick this poor pup up. And the people who laughed at me for stopping are expressing regret that they didn't do the right thing. He was really sweet and I know he'd be a goner if I hadn't stopped. So do they, and they saw him before I did!

Our air conditioner was dead when I got home Thursday and we had it replaced this weekend. So I'd have REALLY gotten in trouble if I'd ignored DH's wishes.

Thanks for the update. I am so glad you stopped and he is settling in his new home.

Sorry about your A/C - hope it didn't mess up your romantic weekend.

Not too badly. The A/C was installed by lunch Saturday. So instead of going away we went to Gatlinburg and had dinner at the restaurant we ate at before we got married. Then we rode the incline 'railway' (cable car) and viewed the city at night. It was very nice. We also found a rooster puzzle at a puzzle shop LOL.

And DH was smart enough to never once say, "We couldn't have done this if you'd brought home a dog." Smart man! Would've landed him in the dog house for sure!! Instead we had a very nice date.

Try having 2 teenagers, 1 pre-teen, 2 kiddos, 1 dog, 3 rats, 35 chickens, and 2 goats! My son is also doing his best to talk me into a small snake of some sort and my little DD wants another dog.

Yeah, your husband obviously needs to be eased into more animals!! I have slowly built up our menagerie, just look below at my signature line! Oh and that doesn't show the dogs and cats we rescue, the eggs in the bator, etc.

DH has a "No more than 3 species at a time" rule. And the teens count as a species

He thinks it's his job to rein me in and make me see reason.

He was a confirmed bachelor until we got married 2+ years ago. At the time we got married we had 6 pet hamsters left from DD1's hamster breeding business plus a cat. I couldn't have chickens until the hamsters shuffled off this mortal coil. And then I got in trouble because I added a cat first (Jezebel needed a pal). Now there's a no new housepets rule... Replacement only, and that applies to only the cats!

A gotta say, for a man that didn't even have a houseplant when we got married, he's adjusting pretty well. But I don't want to overwhelm him too much since the teens do that for me! He still doesn't understand why I have houseplants.
