Dog story w/ pic, HAPPY ENDING! and update

Silly dog just asked for a Mentos. So I gave him one. He's not quite sure what he thinks of it. Should help with the doggie breath in my office space!!

WHAT A CUTIE! I sure wish I was closer. I've fostered alot of dogs in the past and sure wouldn't mind this guy, but I am too darn far. I'm sure someone in your area will see this and volunteer! He's too handsome and too well behaved, he has to be somebody's, it's a shame they didn't take better care to see he didn't get away. My hubby has brought home dogs alot, and some just show up one day. Once 3 labs that were tied together all showed up, it's amazing they didn't get wrapped around a tree in the woods and starve. But I've always found homes for each and every one.

Oh my gosh I wish I could go out there and get him right now!!! Hubby would klill me if he woke up and found that I took a road trip to go get a puppy lol. We already have two male black labs lol. He is handsome to no end. Good luck on finding him a great home! I'll keep my fingers crossed.

The only other thing I can think of is Petfinder. The main page is http://www.petfinder.com//index.html

You
could look up shelters or rescues in your state that you may not know about. This page has lists by state. http://www.petfinder.com/awo/index.cgi?action=state&state=TN&city=&keyword= You can also look for dogs as if you were an adopter on the main page I posted at the top, using your zip code, to find places closest to you.

You could also sign up for the message board and post for help in the rescue section, in either Urgent or Rescue. There are a lot of smaller rescues that use the forum to network. Everybody is always full everywhere, but they may have ideas, a lead for you or even a space for him. http://forums.petfinder.com/

He
looks like such a sweet puppy! He's a big puppy, but he's still a puppy. He would be such a wonderful dog for somebody. I hope you can find some help.

Too bad you weren't closer to us... We were just talking about getting a "big dog" because of the recent crime wave that has hit our small town... He is adorable! Good luck!!

He appears to be a coonhound cross, if that's any help.

Not sure about the "cross" end of it.

Many coonhounds have pigment in their mouths, so that's where the tongue spots likely come from.

Best of luck to him, and you.

Grandpa used to breed / raise hunting dogs. I've been around HUNDREDS of dogs in my life. This one's a good'un, as Grandpa would say.

Had to get paperwork from the warehouse. Took Nobodies with me so he wouldn't raise a ruckus while I was gone. He jumped in the truck and rode with me happily. Got out and wandered around the warehouse. Went outside to do his business, both forms, and actually lifted his leg this time for part of it. Got back in the truck and came back to my office. Didn't complain about being tied to the desk or left behind while I washed my hands. He's now curled up out of way.

THIS IS A GOOD DOG AND I WANT TO FIND HIM A WORTHY HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DH won't soften up. I might buy an extra day but that's IT.
DH is really set on a romantic weekend and I'm afraid he's planned a night away from home for Saturday. We've had a lot of stress in our lives lately and I know he wants to spend some quality time together. He will not bend on the dog issue and it's important enough that I don't want to push him.

So send me some positive vibes that I can place this guy where he deserves to be!
