Dog thread!🐾

I just spent like almost $70 on Brew on Chewy :lau :hide

BUT!!!!!!!!!

TBF it was necessary. Sort of.

I ordered 3 bags of dog food and a small thing of the Mushers Secret :lau :hide

And there was $4 tax so it was really like $63 something not $67 LOL but I got free shipping! :lau :th
Hey dog food is a necessity 🤣

TRUE!!!!!!!!!!! But I didn’t need to buy 3 bags at once :lau :hide especially cause I currently have a bunch of open food LOL BUT!!!!!!! Dog food lasts a long time unopened and I figure I’m saving money because if I bought them individually or even 2 at a time, I’d have to pay like $5 in shipping every time plus tax every time. And if I bought them in person, I’d have to pay for Uber each way LOL I also got three bags for the cost or less of one of the fancier bags :lau

Though if I am gonna leave him and not be able to see him at all I think he should be muzzled. I’m just worried some parent isn’t gonna be paying attention and some little kid is gonna mess with him and get him his face and stuff. I don’t think he’d bite (unless the kid was just being way too rough… though honestly he just doesn’t really like kids in general) but I don’t wanna risk it. But part of me is kind of worried that might draw unnecessary attention. Do you think if there is a dog outside somewhere with do not pet and muzzled people would think I was irresponsibly leaving an ā€œaggressiveā€ dog unattended?
Waving Hi, my first post to the thread.

Its a hard choice to muzzle or not. You know your area/people/other dog situations best for making your choice to muzzle or not. With a muzzle on, your dog could not defend themselves if a loose dog came along. Here it's awful how much people can't leave other peoples dogs along. They see a dog doing a job and they rush their dogs over to them, stop to pet them, see dogs even in a car and go over to pet them, or when they ranch dogs on the back of the truck go over and mess with them. Hopefully there is a time of day that has less traffic of distractions that helps going places.

Hi!! That’s a good point about loose dogs, honestly I hadn’t thought of it. Where I am at now I’m ok with leaving him unmuzzled because there are few people and traffic. And there are also quite a few loose dogs. I feel like somewhere with more people (I’d want to muzzle him more) would have less/no loose dogs?

Yes it’s infuriating. People just don’t know how to keep their hands to themselves.

Do you think, as I was asking earlier, a muzzle dog with a do not pet vest would attract unwanted attention?

Had two reactions from people, for being out and about with my GSD in muzzle training. (1) people gave respect, and space, ignored him being fearful of him. (2) wearing a muzzle with me right there with him, was a magnet for people feeling they were safe and could tease/test my gsd. "OH such a tough dog, are you a tough dog". which got the punch in the face with a hard leather cup muzzle from my dog. Nice gsd or not, gsd's don't like people bending over their head or getting in their face acting like an idiot. Public is a no win situation for the dogs to have to handle.

adding: even with a vest that had (training do not pet) most people would respect, there is always going to be an idiot you should give extra training for teaching your pup the right response to.

Yes I’m definitely aware of that ā˜¹ļø just the other day someone literally commented on the vest, so I know they saw it, then tried to pet him anyways. Chase handled it ok. He just backed away from the guy then dodged around him to get behind my legs. I’m just worried what he’d do if I’m not there. I do plan on doing training where people that I know pet him and teach him how he is supposed to react.
