-Dogs are Gods way of saying your not alone-
I taught them settle they both know when and where to use their energy.Mental stimulation and/or teaching a place or settle command should help hugely with the hyperness. Plus chew toys. Lots of chews lol Brew could easily go go go and he was a bit of a terror as a puppy, still is sometimes, but he (mostly) knows now when itās time to just chill out and grab a chew or go lay down. And heās happy with a short sniffing walk, romp on the marsh, or a game of fetch. But even if we donāt do anything some days he knows he needs to chill because I taught it. He doesnāt like it but he eventually chills out. But those days where we do nothing are extremely rare. We usually always play fetch at least. Itās only when Iām like really really sick that we donāt. But even then, I usually try to do something with him. But yeah. Calmness needs to be taught or else they wonāt chill on their own. Brew could hike for miles if I asked him to or he can do nothing if I need him too. He used to be what I would consider hyper but heās not now.
But since i injured my foot its been hard to get them outside. I did for a bit tonight. We have chew toys galore!
