Herding dogs can be a handful, but I admit that I know very little about border collies; whether they're harder or easier than Aussies.

Yeah that’s why I’m hesitant to get one but I do love them. I loveeee Aussies too so it’s a tough choice if I ever did get a herding breed. But I’m considering other breeds atm

That’s awesome and hilarious! Hahah Malamutes are good dogs too. I knew a really cool one that hung out at a local art gallery/music venue. Unfortunately, they’ve since closed but yeah. I’m sure the dog passed by now too.

Most Malamutes are stubborn.
Mine got the stubborn gene with her markings!
Come to think of it, she was far more difficult than any Aussie I have ever known!
Health issues too! Both CCL's

Brain tumor finally took her out.

Go talk to a trainer before you decide whether or not a herding dog is right for you and what type!
It will be a very small investment for what will become a large investment.

Excellent idea! Thanks! I’ve researched them both but reading is not the same as meeting some and/or talking to people who have or work with them so I’ll definitely do that.

But they're not certified as pure bred?

Tucker was DNA tested. Denver we met both the parents. Dad was AKC mom was DNA tested. Both purebred goldens.

Curious how you got him then if you didn’t meet? They left him in a box or something? or your family picked him up and you didn’t go?

For Tucker a friend needed to rehome him.

Contact your local newspaper, and tell them about everything and how none of the 'proper authorities' are refusing to help. Maybe even contact any local radio or television station.
