Dog thread!🐾

Id like to add to this to because when they say that the breed is meant for families. Thats because ethical breeders dont sell the pups that are aggressive or think they are dominant to just anyone.
Some breeds are prone to aggression and others aren’t. A ā€dominateā€ or aggressive golden would be a massive oops in the litter. So some breeds are better family dogs then others

there are a lot of breed’s people recommended for families that I would not! all dogs can be ā€œgoodā€ with families if you are the correct family for the dog but some breeds are better for the average family

I think Labs and goldens are underrated a lot of the time but the problem with the popular breeds is there are lot of bybs and they have ruined the breed

the difference between a wellbred lab and a byb lab is huge, I don’t think there is as much of a difference with the less popular breeds

at the same time the are overrated but I think thats more to do with people being bad at recommending breeds. they tend to recommend the same few breeds or a breed that would actually be awful for the person

I think wellbred labs and goldens are good for most pet owners, the dog community is not the majority of dog owners

I can not make up my mind if they are over or underrated 🤣
It goes either way. I agree with this

I feel like everybody and their mother has a Lab or Golden. At least around here LOL
A lot of people near me have huge dogs or tiny dogs. Like some people that moved in like 2 months ago have a huge anatolian shepher looking dog and a huge cane corso. And she lets them off leash. So now i cant walk that way because the one dog came at Tucker.
Then GSD, labs and cattle dogs.

it would be a massive oops but it happens.
People arounf here reccomend dogs i would never reccomend to people. Like reccomending a working line German Shepherd to a family expecting a baby in a few months.

Around here everybody has Labs or rescue mixes (most of which have lab or bully breed in them lol or herding breed). There’s a lot of Goldens and GSD too.

I think pits and bully breeds in general are underrated. Although that’s starting to change and lots of people are adopting them now. Finally. But still.
I have noticed a lot of bully breeds being adopted. But then im noticing people mixing American pitbull Terriors with Goldens, labs, shepherd. Then they are being put in shelters.

Yeah there’s definitely a lot of lab/bully mixes in shelters. And bully breeds in general. It’s sad.

We know most of the dogs in our town which is great. The rescue mixes around here mostly are poodle mixes. Ot herding breeds. We are surronded by farms lol

We rarely have doodles in the shelters here lol it’s all bully breeds and labs mixes. And hounds lol sometimes herding mixes. Our town is pretty large so impossible to know all the dogs lol
