Dog thread!🐾

Plan for Pikelet is

get videos of
-training before exercise
-1hour playing in the field
-video of her inside after playing
-another training session
- maybe time-lapse of her in her crate? I don’t know if time-lapse is the correct setting

then until we get a diagnosis from the vet I will be not be doing any leash walking. make sure she gets a lot of time to run around and do more enrichment, treats in a blanket, lick mat, puzzle toys, etc. Also stick to training she was successful with :th

Do yall have any tips to get willow to stand in the shower for baths? She's constantly trying to escape which makes it even harder to bathe her lol not to mention she's water proof🤣
Lick Mat stuck to the wall? I’ve seen that before. Also they sell straps that stick to the wall too to tie them there

Some dogs might need more than an hour running, more like 2-3. That could be it maybe? She’s still young too. But does sound like she might have it maybe
if you condition them working dogs can go for hours but! She is still young and I haven’t seen her sleep, even in her crate for months.

I can’t imagine that Fanta is a low energy dog and she has no where near as much energy. Fanta used to keep playing past her limit but I could get her to stop and then she would rest and go too sleep! If Fanta hasn’t had enough exercise and is really boisterous she will calm down after at the most half an hour of running, probably less

even Twiggy who doesn’t have much of a drive for anything is better trained then Pikelet. again I don’t think thats me because I have spent weeks now working on engagement and she can’t really do it. Twice now indoors in the middle of training while she is running she has šŸ’© in the house, the second time she asked 4 times to go out I let her out 3 times, waited then let her back in, ignored the 4 time later she went, no sniffing, no pause in running even started walking trying to run in the middle of going (she does this frequently)

other things that might be caused by this
-randomly getting scared of us for no reason, it seems like she suddenly does recognise us (happen frequently to some level)
-sound sensitivity
-jumping up at things we carry (nothing has made her stop)
-puddling on the floor when touched
-frantic behaviour when training her (nothing lessens it)

there is a chance that nothing is wrong and she doesn’t have it which is why I am going to get the videos. I will post edited version here if it turns out like I expect, the main purpose of the video is so I can show it to the vets and they can see that it isn’t lack of training and exercise. I am expecting Pikelet to not stop full speed running for the hour, come in and not really rest, then still be frantic and hyper in training

Fanta is working line giant schnauzer cross wl Lab (was the second most active of the litter)
Pepsi wl german shepherd though she is only 20 weeks
Twiggy Romanian mix no energy or really drive
all easier then Pikelet the English Springer Spaniel

Ahh okay that makes sense! It almost sounds like something neurological going on though or genetic. Were her parents anything like this?
