Why can't we just keep breeds individual and pure....
I don't mind mix breeds. I don't like people saying some cryptic recessive gene suddenly showed up in a breed and now we have merle fluffy French bulldogs and merle poodles, and merle boxers, and....whatever. Not sure what the deal with merle. I like in the breeds it belongs in, but not in those it doesn't. Now dogs that are mixed are registered as purebreds. AKC means nothing now. It's too bad. Doesn't help these breed genetic tests will show purebred after a few generations which continues to feed into it all.

I don't have anything against mix breed dogs but I just personally don't see the reason for breeding mix breeds...it doesn't help the standard, it doesn't preserve what the breeds purpose is, and it further muds up the pure breeds.

Sometimes there is good reason. They call it purpose bred dogs or purpose bred mixes and those I’m okay with. Examples would be like mixing breeds to create better sled dogs or in guide and service dog programs sometimes they mix Labs and Goldens together or even make doodles for various reasons and also sport mixes like for dog sports. They often mix breeds together for dog sports to make dogs better at the sports. Like the border collie and whippet or staffy border collie etc etc.

I guess I can see some of those being purposeful

The does AKC means nothing now.
i see so many unwell bred puppies listed on the market place.
Im not against mix breeds, but i dont like how they are purposely bred. Like doodles.

The doodles are out of control...and the people who get doodles at least around here are people who wanted a fluffy puppy and don't train, exercise or do anything with the dog and it ends up being crazy

Yeah. Doodles are i see so many and what really hurts me is seeing these dogs.
We live not farm from amish farms and i have seen the horrible kept dogs and the ones on the side of the road.
The person we got Denver from found a doodle on the side of the road she rescued her but went after denvers mom. She stepped in and the doodle went after her and bit her and then went after her son for no reason and she put her down.

That's so sad, I feel bad for the dogs. They are so overbred too
