Dog thread!🐾

Did not have a great walk this morning but it’s my fault. He should have had his e collar on. But I thought “oh, we are only going on a short walk. He doesn’t need it.” Big mistake. LOL he reacted twice  but I’ve been doing that lately. Not putting it on because “we’re not going far” or “it’s so early/late, we won’t see anybody” etc. etc. but in reality, I need to start putting it on him EVERY SINGLE TIME. Which I keep saying I am going to do and then not doing LOL I also maybe need to invest in a shorter leash or a waist leash at least or something?

That’s frustrating. I’m sure he’ll get better when you start bringing the e collar😂

I was very glad yesterday that Chase has a bark alert. The stupid cat got lost and there was a good chance she was stuck under the house in the crawl space. I sent chase under and he barked somewhere where I couldn’t see him. I realized if he had a down alert or something like that I wouldn’t have been able to see it.

It was!!!! And oh yes, he is an angel with the collar!!!! Usually. LOL there was once recently he reacted through the collar and I should have given him a stronger correction which I actually did right afterwards since he was still reacting a little but still a little too late then, bad timing on my part, but still. LOL usually he’s really good lol

Wondering if anyone has recommendations for thermometers for dogs. I usually get the cheapest digital thermometer at Walmart (oral/rectal for humans) but they always seem to run out of battery when you need them most. Looking for a longer-lasting and more comfortable option that isn't too expensive. TIA
