Dog thread!🐾

Had a awful shopping trip people kept talking to and touching Fanta, she was all so having a off day :he

first shop we went in to had no sign saying no dogs (we had Fennel in a backpack) so when we walked in somebody came to tell use Fennel couldn't come in but the assistance dog can because they aren’t allowed not allow them šŸ™ƒ. Then they asked me if Fanta’s friendly and started talking to her and trying to touch her after I told them not to touch Fanta they went out to tell my brother about assistance dogs. like the people with a assistance dog don’t know about them

next wonderful person started walking up to Fanta talking to her I told them she’s working they went to sit at a bench. I continued the training I was doing and suddenly they thought it would be a wonderful idea to start making noises at Fanta :barnie. They also might have tried to tell Fanta to sit when they came up to use and Fanta started getting too excited, thankfully Fanta doesn’t really listen to other people

Ugh! People are annoying sometimes. I want to get my hands on every single dog I see, but I know enough (even when I was a little kid) not to touch working dogs! I don't even touch someone's pet unless I have their permission. That's ridiculous!

I was taught to all ways ask before touching any dogs. Fanta is friendly but she is quite heavy and likes jumping up so its not all ways safe for people to touch her, I wish she looked scarier šŸ˜† she is a lot scarier when you know her šŸ˜…

Wow! I was always taught to ask before you pet. I even still do it for dogs i know. As sometimes the dogs are going theough trainings and cant be pet. I have a e collor for certain training. and i have found that if i put it on nobody will ask to pet either of my dogs.

Probably a controversial opinion. I am less fussy with working dog breeders (who work their dogs) then show or companion breeder

and I am not fond of puppy contracts

I think some breeders go to far with trying to make sure the puppy goes to a good home they are ending up like rescues
I’m not a fan of contracts either and I won’t buy a dog that comes with one. Once a dog is sold, its the property of the new owner. The breeder ought not have the right to dictate terms that last beyond the sale. I am especially against the concept of ā€œbreeding rights.ā€ The new owner alone has the right to breed or not breed their dog as they see fit. I’m all for screening people to make the odds in favor of finding good homes for pups. I don’t believe that’s often what contracts are about. I think they’re often aimed at limiting breeding that will compete with the breeder, and otherwise milking more money out of the sale.

I’m into bulldogs. Specifically traditional deep-South farm bulldogs that don’t necessarily conform to a specific bloodline, but instead conform to an overall type. These days a lot of these bulldogs are called ā€œold Englishā€ or ā€œAmericanā€ bulldogs even though they don’t necessarily come from any of Leavitt’s, Johnson’s, or Scott’s lines.

My male Brunson. He’s going on 4. The black over his right eye is a recent snake bite he’s getting over. The snake the puppy is eating in the pic is not what bit Brunson. He’s a little chunky right now because we had to put him on steroids to combat this last snake bite, and it messed with his muscle tone.

The white puppy is Baby. The plan is for her to be Brunson’s girlfriend in about a year and a half.

I won’t pay exorbitant prices for a bulldog or sell mine for the same. There are still people who breed them for the love of the breed and let them go for $200-$300 if you know where to look. Brunson was $600 and Baby was $250. The $3500 I often see bulldogs listed for is ridiculous.
