How often do you guys heartworm test?? My vet only does if the dog isn't up to date with heartworm prevention or there's another reason.

Once a year if you dont do or do preventive. I do preventive during every month of the spring/summer as our old vet recommended. Our new vet actually recommended doing a test every 6 months. Reminds me to ask what preventative is best.

Heartworm was going around in my area this summer.

All mine are on yearly injections now but only Wizard had a test this year.

Its a monthly oral. If i could do a yearly injection i would it would be much easier to remember

What vaccines?
Vet billbillse crazy expensive compared to what i remembered with our first pup.
I know Denver and Tucker will need a lyme lepto booster. Denver might meed rabies.
A heartworm test for both.
And then the office visit charge.
Our old vet use to charge a office visit and a exam so its cheaper at our vet. And the new vet is better.

Rabies, DHPP, Lepto, Lyme, possibly Bordetella (not sure I’m doing that one yet and it’s due a bit later), plus the tests and the office visit charge and few dollars for “medical waste disposal.”

I need to get Brew back on preventative. but my vet usually likes to test once a year I think.

I think the heartworm is in the wormer for us. I dont remember though
