Dog thread!🐾

Having a reactive dog or even a aggressive dog makes you change your perspective on everything.
So true. I remember letting my past dogs go right up to other peoples' dogs. I would never do that now! Luna is aggressive/reactive towards other dogs and certain people. One time someone was letting her dog come see my dog and the owner said something like "She's friendly!" and I'm like "My dog is not!!" 😧 At least the other dog was on a leash...

Me to. Our lab and aussie lab we let meet almost every dog they never once growled or barked at them.
Our chocolate lab got out a few times and always ended up with a dog he played with.
Now i dont even walk close enough to dogs.
When someone says their dog is friendly, ill say mine isnt. But they dont seem to care. Like one step closer and your dog is going to be bit thats not my fault. The last dog that charged at us the owner said was friendly i dont care if he is mine isnt.

I never ask other people if there dogs can meet mine, if they ask I'll normally say yes if I know the dog, which I know most in my neighborhood because I've walked them. The amount of people that just think they can let their dog in your space or pet dogs without asking is infuriating. Plus it makes willow lose her focus and it can be hard to regain it, especially when people are all excited and baby talking....

I used to hike all the time in areas with tons of off leash dogs and used to let Brew play with most of the ones he came across (unless they asked me to keep him away which happened a few times and then I would catch him and hold until they passed and were a good distance away) but now we don’t hike anymore or very rarely and when we do, I will probably keep him on leash and away from other dogs which is HARD to do in areas with tons of off leash dogs that just run up to you often with no owners in sight. That’s part of why we don’t go anymore. That and I can’t drive and there aren’t really any close areas to go except one field/wooded/beachy area lol
