That's terrible.@oldhenlikesdogs i know you live in Wisconsin do you know of rescues that can do anything about neglected dogs? Our neighbors have been gone for a week now they have 3 dogs now a 11ish year old hound mix, a 2 year old terrier x beagle and a saint benard that they just got. I know ive said things about these people before but this is where i draw they have had no food for a week. Thankfully because of rain they have water. They have been barking all day. We are going to contact our local cop later and see if we send him videos of them constantly barking and that rhey have been gone for a week that he can do something. But if not our counties animal person has never returned phone calls. We have lived here for 10 years and one dog after another gets neglected try after try the sherriffs and animal person does nothing. I know of Wispurring Hope Rescue just dont know if they can do anything

It truly is. The sounds of the barks makes me feel even worse. That's terrible.
We are rural and have no animal control officer anymore. I once turned a stray dog into the guy when we had one years ago and was told he'd hold the dog for a week and than probably just shoot it. I'm grateful he was phased out. Here I would probably just call the county sheriff and see what can be done.
I'm not sure who cracks down on rural neglect. I see it on the news when they find hoarding situations. I never paid attention who was doing it. I hope you can get help for those poor dogs.It truly is. The sounds of the barks makes me feel even worse.
Ill try that again if the town cop cant do anything but we are friends with him so hopefully he can do something
Im not sure who does that either meaning that most towns around us have had someone doing it(a few years ago there were a lot more neglected dogs). There are still hunting hounds but atleast they are took care of. I mean i know of one rescue if the local county cant do anything i will contact them.I'm not sure who cracks down on rural neglect.
