Dog thread!🐾

I actually have a question! So I currently own a Working Line German Shepherd, he is great, fully trained off leash, great on hikes! Now, my question is: what do you guys think about Belgian Malinois as family pet dogs? It of course depends on the individual dogs temperament and breeding, but they are such amazing dogs, and I would love to own one one day.
They need to be worked a lot. But i think that they could be amazing family dogs.

Brew has had an adventurous day lmao first, it was pouring rain on our morning walk but we had to walk but it was very short because he literally pottied quickly and then immediately turned around towards home and practically ran home 🤣😭 I was like buddy, slow down! 🤣🤣🤣 To be fair, it did start raining harder as soon as he finished pottying, but still. He was totally over it 😭🤣 and then it was raining so hard there was a massive puddle in front of my door so he had to stand in that and wait for me to come open the door when we got back. He was NOT PLEASED. He also had to walk through it to get out to go on the walk to begin with which amazingly he did cause he HATES WATER lmao AND THEN!!!!!!! Tonight, we were outside before bed and there was some kind of critter cause all of a sudden he starts going bananas at the fence line barking like mad and running back and forth, jumping at the fence, etc. and then running all back and forth tracking it. I manage to get him to sit and stop barking and we were headed inside but then he takes off again after it and briefly goes off property. I’m like get back here! He does come back immediately but still. We went inside after that and he actually listened and went with me lol but yeah, adventurous day!!!!!! He normally never just takes off either but his brain and ears shut off and his nose took over 🤣😭

Ever curious how big this dog is going to get!
He is 5.5 months old. He is almost 24" at the withers, and when he lays down he is about 4' from toes to tail. He is LONG. His paws have almost doubled in size from when we got him as a pup. I have yet to weigh him this month - I need to see if a local grooming place has a scale or something.

He's still young, he's probably going to grow till 1.5 years. He's gonna be a big boy for sure!

He went on a 2.5 week, 3,700 mile, 50hr road trip with us. We got home yesterday. He was absolutely amazing for the entire trip! He whined once - once in the car because he needed to pee and we had stopped for gas. He was a perfect gentleman in the car and met several new dogs with very different personalities - all of which he did great with! He slept in five hotels, and three different houses, and only had one accident when he got confused because he had just learned about fake grass... It didn't help that they put us on the fourth floor and insisted we hadn't asked for a pet room (the booking line didn't inform them despite my husband mentioning it several times). 🤣 He LOVED it all, and it was great. He discovered the Great Lakes! Turns out he absolutely ADORES water, which isn't too surprising. He spent a few hours chasing the water hose and splashing in the kiddie pool at my In-laws'. It was great. He also got to see a cat for the first time. She froze, stared, and twitched, so he growled. Apparently he didn't growl at either of the cats there after that. Watching him interact with other dogs was helpful for me, too!
