Dog thread!🐾

Funny šŸ˜‚ I honestly don’t really care about confirmation, so I guess that explains why I didn’t know. I’d much rather watch sorts like agility and schutzhund. Where do you watch it?
Are you guys referring to the conformation show? šŸ˜… The fancy one where there's like blue curtains and stuff? I think I've run across it randomly throughout my childhood, when searching for the channel with the Macy's Day parade. :P

Yessss

I think it’s on NBC but idk. You can find it on YouTube pretty much right after though. My family will probably have the football game on instead though. 🤣😭 not that I don’t like football but I’d rather watch puppies prancing around LOL they do have multiple TVs so… maybe. šŸ¤”šŸ¤£šŸ™ˆ

I think the people we are doing TG with like to have the football on. I'd totally prefer doggies, too! šŸ˜‚

I was about to say I am so sick of this šŸ’© head dog!!!!! But then… he was just REALLY good!!!!! There was a big, fat SQUIRREL in the tree in our yard just taunting him, sitting on the branch, and he was SO alert and about to lose his mind so I dropped the leash and let him go. Kept the leash on I stead of unclipping like I was going to just in case he went to take off so I could grab him. Well… that wasn’t necessary. He chased that squirrel, checked out half the tree (other half is in neighbor’s yard separated by a fence LOL), and then I called him back. He thought about it a few seconds so I called him again, this time with Brewster COME! Cause I think the first time I just said like come on or come here or something else but idk. Anyways, he came BARRELING back as fast as he could with a huge smile on his face LOL he didn’t quite make it to the door but made it to me (I was a bit away from the door) which is what matter but then I was like come on, in, and he just went to the door and waltzed right in LOL SO GOOD.

But yet…

So bad…

There was a dog. One he’s seen before several times. He started crying and freaking out even before we got near them. I should have turned around but didn’t. Then I kept walking and they had paused too but also kept walking. I thought about turning around so I made him sit then walked a bit then sit again. When they came close he lunged out of the sit, crying and BARKING, and I was like NO! SIT! He did sit again but still. Then he wanted to sniff the road where they had been I guess? So he suddenly lunges forward after the passed, pulling some of the leash out of my hand (I had it wrapped around my hand) and pulling ME a bit. So basically I lost my grip and he dragged me. I was like NO! SIT! And he did. But holy moly. I’m glad I didn’t lose my grip when the dog was going by. 😬 I might start walking him with the rope one I bought that has a locking carabiner clip anyway because the biothane is so pretty but so slippery LOL NOT GOOD. I would have better grip with the rope one. OR! I could do double leashes or something. And he needs his e collar on again. It was a short walk so I didn’t put it on. šŸ™ˆšŸ˜šŸ¤£

But then he also… like… doesn’t run away. I could let him out and forget him and he will come back in when he’s ready if I leave the door open. Obviously I don’t do that but I could. He loves to sniff around the yard. Occasionally he will chase a squirrel slightly over the property line but comes back IMMEDIATELY without even needing to be called or told. And that is not very often at all that he chases them over. Usually he chases the ones on our property up the other tree I mentioned. But he’s SO GOOD.

He also still LOVES other dogs even though he’s almost 5 now, loves people, a little bit scared of younger kids but likes older kids. And even younger kids, he’s not aggressive at all, he just avoids them/runs away UNLESS they are sitting or confined to a stroller or something and then he’ll give them kisses LOL

Doesn’t resource guard at all. In fact, he will sometimes bring his chewies to me to chew on them on my lap 🤣😭 he will bring me his stuffies too to play with together.

He WILL NOT touch any food or meds or anything left on my table unless it’s given to him or falls on the floor. Except meds he NEVER touches even if they’re on the ground LOL he HATES taking meds so he’s not about to eat some willingly 🤣 but yeah. My table is like… two feet tall too. He could EASILY have anything he wanted to but he is VERY respectful. I know someone with a dog that will steal anything even off your plate and I could never live like that.

VERY VERY RARELY gets into the trash and even then, he’ll just lick clean a paper plate or tray or something, usually only one thing, and WILL NOT shred it LOL and my trash is just kept on the ground in the room. I have multiple barrels. He’s just naturally good.

He’s never chewed anything he wasn’t supposed to that I can recall even as a baby but I always had tons of chewies readily available which I’m sure helped.

He’s also never had an accident inside even as a baby or MAYBE once, idk, but it never happens now. He’s puked a few times but he can’t help that. He’s never had an accident. He did try to mark once or twice before he got fixed and in a store but I corrected that immediately. And I don’t consider those accidents.

He also doesn’t mind baths. Or I should say, he is good for them. He doesn’t really LIKE them at all and if given the choice, would hide, but once he’s in the stall, he stays put. Of course he RUNS out when I give the okay but that’s okay LOL now, his nails are another story. NOT aggressive at all but so WIGGLY LOL he tries to climb into your lap 🤣😭

Anyways, this was VERY VERY VERY LONG but my point is… he DOES have good qualities. He’s actually probably the best dog I’ve ever had. But I just get frustrated with the reactivity situation but I know it’s all my fault but still.
