Dog with fleas

We put a flea collar on the dog, and then snipped off a piece and put that in the vacuum bag. Hopefully that'll kill any little buggers that get sucked up.

We also are vacuuming like crazy and also used the carpet cleaner machine thingy (the one that looks similar to an upright vacuum cleaner). Not only are we hoping the flea eggs are gone, but the carpet looks a lot cleaner!

Ugh... I guess we really need to resort to natural cleaners. The fleas are still growing strong, swarming on the poor dog. When I walk in my room the fleas jump on my legs. The dog has been being naughty and lying on the bed so there are fleas there, too!!!

We sprinkled salt on the carpet in the living-room and there don't seem to be quite as many fleas there.

So... does feeding garlic to the dog help?

Mix the salt with borax...laundry isle in the grocery store..sprinkle it on the carpet, use a broom to brush it deep let it sit several days. The heat your sweeper creates when you use it stimulates the eggs to hatch! Another thing to do is to take small dishes, ashtrays, jar lids something that will hold soapy water..and i mean soapy. like half and half soap and water. Place them in the middle of the room with a light shining on it, the light attracts them and they drown in the soapy water. Use a flea comb on the dog...sit and comb comb comb cleaning the fleas from between the teeth each time and placing them in hot soapy water. If you can, after you leave the borax on the rug for a few days, run your sweeper well and spray it with carpet spray for fleas. You'll most likely have to vacate for a while but it will work be sure to get under furniture...under there i would just leave the borax and salt sit no one walks on it and it will last a while. Honestly...i fought this battle for 13 years before just moving to a different state!!! I've done it all and the borax and salt works the best. and its cheap! just try to keep the dog as flea free as possible and the flea comb pulls the eggs out too. they look like specks of dirt so dont underestimate a piece of "dirt"
