Been there, more than once - I can sympathize.
I use the peroxide/baking soda/dish detergent, also. There is always that lingering waft of skunk, though....

If you use this formula and you take an old rag and dunk it in the stuff, rub the dogs down, and let it sit for 5 minutes (make sure you go the whole 5 minutes) there shouldn't be much of a lingering smell. Then just throw that rag away. I've done this several times and it really works. The last time the very skunk got in the dog house and wouldn't come out so we shot it in the dog house. Good thing it was warm weather season; the dogs didn't enter that dog house for a month.
