Yeah, but the question is, "are dogs more important than chickens?"They can emote all they want, I'm not denying them that right. But it does not play a factor in people's rights to defend their property. That's all I'm saying.

They are not if the chickens are in my backyard, and the dog does not belong there.Yeah, but the question is, "are dogs more important than chickens?"
Easy one - that's on you.But what if your own pups were the villain and your own hen flew into the very space that keeps them seperated? That’s a hard one to answer, right.
Neither are more importantYeah, but the question is, "are dogs more important than chickens?"
That's your opinion and your choice. My point is that exactly: everybody has a different opinion because it's subjective and nuanced. Not everybody will agree with you. There is no right or wrong answer. That's why I can't understand why we can't leave it at that. They are not if the chickens are in my backyard, and the dog does not belong there.
That’s fair. Everyone sees it differently. I would never kill a dog without finding the owner and telling them to keep their dog off my property and I know others might just shoot first while others wouldn’t at all. That's your opinion and your choice. I think we for the most part have 'left it at that'. It falls upon each of us to make our own decision. I'm not right - you're not wrong. There is no right or wrong answer. That's why I can't understand why we can't leave it at that.
Imo posting things like "if your dog is in my yard killing my chickens I shoot it" in response to somebody saying that dogs are important to them isn't leaving anything at anything. It's just egging on more emotional responses from people at the other end.I think we for the most part have 'left it at that'. It falls upon each of us to make our own decision. Opinions and judgements are just that. Stating an opinion is egging on nothing unless someone chooses to react. You can choose the reaction that suits your agenda, and sadly many choose this approach.Imo posting things like "if your dog is in my yard killing my chickens I shoot it" in response to somebody saying that dogs are important to them isn't leaving anything at anything. (Not aimed specifically at you. Just a trend I've noticed in this thread at this point.)
