Dogs protected chickens! So proud of them!

Fine. And if it did?
Cats are predators. They hunt, lady. They don't understand the difference between a pet chicken and a wild bird, y'know? They aren't humans. It was probably starving.
Don't want your chickens getting wounded, give them secure pens. Don't just let your dogs kill a cat that is probably someone's pet.

Dogs are predators too and will attack and kill other animals with little provocation. That includes cats. Feral cats are an environmental menace. I am still grieving the death of my barn cat who was killed in her own sleeping space indoors in our shop by another cat.

Don't want your cat getting killed, keep it away from other people's yards and their dogs. This argument goes both ways, just saying.

That's great!! I've struggled with killer stray cats for years. They kill my farm cats/kittens, and reach through my fencing at my bantams. My dogs can chase them off, but have never caught one.
I love cats, I'm more of a cat person than a dog person by far. But I still know feral ones are dangerous and need to be taken care of, one way or another unfortunately, you get no bad judgement from me!! :)

I've always found the double standard with dogs vs cats interesting. Folks expect their cats to be able to roam freely (which in all honestly I do myself) but then expect them to also have some protections when they do things like harm livestock or spray other's property or act like nuisances. That doesn't fly with dogs, why should it with cats?
