Their actually English shepherds which is a type of collie but they don't have a high prey drive like border collies which makes them better for herding small livestock such as ducks or chickens 21

We have not tried that yet (cause we're not home and won't be till the end the month) but the Black and Tan did sort of herd ducks (sort Of because he was like three months old when he tried) when we were home at the beginning of the year

Cool! Would love to hear what he does when you get home!! Do you have to train them to be gentle around the ducks or are they like that on their own?

It's different for each dog I think. the Black and Tan is fairly gentle with small animals (unless it's a rodent than he goes into killing mode he found a wild rabbit den once and it was all me and my older sister could do to drag him away without letting him kill them but they have a sense of what's yours and what's not so they'll guard your rabbits but kill wild ones) and so the Black and Tan should be fairly easy to train. the black and white has a higher prey drive than the Black and Tan so might take a little more work but i think he should be ok 17
