Because of bad owners and bad press! How many times do you hear of a chihuahua or Dashound biting it's owner or another person? Yet they are more prone to that than any other breed.

My friend had a chihuahua. And I think he bit them once or twice.

My mom had a Pomeranian from hell. Severe separation anxiety and bit everyone. You can bet your boots if that was a German Shepherd, pitbull or some other large dog, she would have been put down.

That's why I really don't like little dogs. My shi-tzus were sweet, and mildly bratty, but my big dogs don't have a mean bone in their bodies.

Yeah. I think the main problem with little dogs is people don't treat them like dogs so they end up developing a lot of bad habits. Obviously a Pomeranian bite is not as serious as the bite of a larger dog, hence the dog can get away with it.
