Dogs

Hi!!!!!!! Yesterday we got a Rhodesian Ridgeback dog he is a 9 week old puppy. We have 5 kids in our family a 12 year old a 10 year old a 7 year old a 3 year old and a 1 year old. I was wondering if they are good family dogs. We live in the country on a lot of land so he would have lots of room to run. We have 3 other dogs, horses, cows, sheep and chickens. Congrats!! I have Rhodesian Ridgeback mix and she is the very best nanny dog I have ever seen! When she was younger she loved to roughhouse but would not do it with small children! She seems to be fairly smart but does have something of a theft problem!

No some are just more playful than others! As long as he is doing other normal puppy stuff then all is good!! I hope you enjoy him! What did you decide to name him?

I like the name Lincoln. Then you could call him Link for short!

My boss has a 4 month old Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy. She seems to be a pretty mellow pup from what I can tell. Nothing like our Irish Setter was, that's for sure. All the Rhodies that I have met seem to be pretty much couch potatoes. Well, I've met 5 different Ridgebacks and they are all friendly, but not overly obnoxious about it. Danger is from the tails I believe.
