Love seeing everyone's dogs! I have a 5 year old French bulldog pug mix and a 4year old yorkie. Planning on getting new chicks this spring and wanting to have a chicken dog. Any particular breed y'all recommend to be best?

Be careful, my French bulldog Boston terrier mix has a high prey drive with chickens. Thankfully she's smart and finally getting old enough to behave, but she has killed. What do you consider a chicken dog?

Yes I kept her away from the last flock I had she's usually pretty calm around them tho. I don't know what breeds to consider a chicken dog. I plan on the dog to live in the coop with the chickens

Some people keep livestock protection breeds like great Pyrenees and maremma. I don't know if they are used for chickens though. I think I've seen a few threads about dogs in the predator forum. So maybe a search of this site might get you some answers.

Nice! With proper training, many different breeds will be ok with chickens, but I'm sure there are certain breeds that are better. Anatolian shepherd, maybe?
