Doin the moon walk-HELP!

They can get better, but they will always be carriers of the virus. Next time I talk to my avian pathologist, I'll ask him if he knows of any good articles to read.

A necropsy is done on a deceased bird.

If it were/is Markels, would she be seemingly improving?
I don't know the answer to this for sure, but from what I have read, and from discussion with a vet, symptoms can improve somewhat, but might worsen again when the bird is stressed (as when molting, during winter, etc.). I've seen these neuro symptoms wax and wane in a few of my birds, but I've only recently sent my first one in for a necropsy. The vet suspected Marek's, but I am eager to see of the necropsy confirms that.

Thanks for your responses and info. So necropsy is like an autopsy, good to know. And I will keep posted to find out what your vet tells you relating Marek's as I am at a stand still on what to do next. Rocky appears to bee gaining weight and her feathers are filling in. So much to learn about my girls. Today I noticed one of my BO with really red feet and appear to be swollen. I looked at some conditions like synovitis and bumble foot but they didn't mention those symptoms. The only thing that has changed recently has been that I used pine shaving in the coop Saturday instead of the pellet's I have always used. What next? A hen with allergies? Any thoughts on this will be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone.
