Whitewater, they are just about 5-1/2 to six months old. We didn't expect any eggs til August!

congrats, can't wait for our first eggs from our young chickens. I bought adult hens last winter and have had eggs regularly till I introduced chicks, now the chicks are almost 18 weeks old and about ready to lay, I just can't wait for my first egg from my pullets...

OK, OK I cheated............I bought 2 SLW hens already laying. But they are my 1st chickens in over 30 years and I reeeeeeely wanted eggs NOW! we got our 1st eggs Monday, 2 more Tuesday and 2 today. Guess what's for breakfast in the morning? I'm so excited. I am so happy for you that you got EGGS!!!!!! I took pics of mine on my cell phone and made everyone at work admire them. They think I'm nuts. Take pics and make "unchicken" people ooh and aah over them, it's fun.
