One of my domestic ducks has been slow in the morning sitting on the eggs before joining the others outside. This has been going on periodically for about a week. She remains on the eggs for about a half an hour then joins the others. Today she has not gotten off the eggs yet and it has been 2 and 1/2 hours. Is she trying to be a mom? I heard most domestic ducks do not try to hatch their eggs is this true? All of my ducks are about a year old. 2 males and 3 females. Khaki Cambells, and I think the females are anconas? (spotted).

She does get off the eggs about 9:00 for the day though. That's what puzzles me. Usually I collect the eggs after she gets off them however should I just leave them there to see what happens? The 3 females lay each an egg every day in the same spot.
