Hi all,
I have 9 quail of various ages. There's 1 male and female that are a year old, but the dominant roo is 3 years old as are his preferred hens. It appears that the young roo is not mating with any of the hens. And the old roo sticks with his old girls who are his favourites.
If I was to remove the old roo
would the younger one step up and start mating? The young roo is quite small compared to most of the hens. Or is it more likely that if he is just not mating now that he won't at all even if he were the only male in the flock?
advice appreciated.
