I have a hard vinyl floor where the shavings end up in a pile with a bare floor. And yes a couple of times I have had a sore leg in the morning I attribute to hitting the floor too hard.

I just got her yesterday. She is 6 months old. She wasn't very socialized and her owner was an old women who couldn't catch her. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get her to be friendly? She is also picking on my other chickens, should I just let that happen?

Sorry thank you. I'm new to all of this. I got woke up at 5:30 this morning and I can't figure out who it was. I have 2 brown leghorns and they are pullets and an easteregger who do not look or act like a cockerel.

You should have indicated he is not pure American Dominique and his age. That is cockerel. Pure American Dominique would be a lot lighter in coloration.

Yeah I don't know a lot about this breed, when I got it, the person I got it from said it was a 6 months old pullet and was a Plymouth Rock. So now it's a Dominique cockerel. And some think it's not even 6 months old.
