Dominique Thread!

Sorry for the delay, JulesChicks! Yes, mine are from Nantahala. My eggs are definitely not brown, sorry. But, they are beautiful, I think, with a lovely pinkish tone that the SFH eggs do not have. They also often have a speckling, too. I would not call them cream, but maybe pinkish beige? I will post a pic when I can - both the Doms and the SFHs have been pretty slack this month; I don't think they have fully come back from molt!

So I got my first eggs from my doms a few weeks ago and just like everyone said, they are fairly small (although not as small as I was expecting). Will they eventually get larger? Some sites say that doms lay large eggs while others say they lay medium. As a general measure, can doms ever lay eggs that are the size of store bought large grade A eggs?

My new Doms! They are almost 8 weeks old. I'm not sure about the sex. Hopefully all three are pullets, or at least 2 of them

That's one of the many things that I love about the Doms is that you can tell the sexes apart easily. When the white barring is wider than the black than it is a roo. Opposite goes for hens. I'm not an expert but I know enough to know that all three of yours are cockerels. Keep them until they grow up and keep the one you like, he'll make a great protector for your flock. Just be sure to get rid of the bad-tempered ones no matter how good looking they are. I kept Koko my 6 month old dom rooster based on looks and he's not what you would call a people person, not to mention he's food aggressive to his hens when its time to eat.

I can only speak for mine, but at their largest
they are smaller than large grade A eggs. They are the best laying breed in my flock however.
