Dominique Thread!

I was just out working with my birds and I snapped these pictures. I guess I can see how you could say it is kind of, semi, maybe cuckoo.

I hesitate to show them becuase they are coming out of winter and have been breeding for a few months,(but not well because of the extreme cold ugly winter we are having).

I had to lighten the pictures a tad so you could see the barring. Please go easy on me, as they look like dog poop this time of year. I hope to have them in the outside pens and areas in a week or two. Last year at this time they had been outside for a month.

Oh and of course the roosters were camera shy.

I am working on smaller wattles, that has been an ongoing problem with this line.

huh... I see what you mean by barring.

And yours look better than mine! :lau

Ground is frozen, a foot of snow and ice around the outside of my run, which means unless I go out and bail... my run is a mudpit/ lake. :sick

Thanks, I look and I can see some cuckoo, but I really see a lot of barring.....

I have over 2 ft of snow headed here in next 3 days, so they are in the barn for a while longer.

better than a mud pit. ..

but then I dunno... here is a pic of one of mine.... left the dry shed to stand in the sun... which also = mud pit.

Ugh! Now that's a mud pit! Our mud season isn't in full swing yet. However, the crazy weather is abundant.

Chilly last weekend but temps within normal range.
Then I built a snow-chicken on Tues

Today the temp got up to a balmy 71'F and it felt like a sunny summer afternoon.
But on Sunday we're expecting more snow & a low of 26'F.

I can't say I'm missing our usual 50-60'F rain showers & flooding, but the huge temp swings are causing headaches.
