Dominique Thread!

Anybody else remember these being called Dominickers?
Oh yeah! My mom and my wife's grandpa both corrected me when I said I was getting Dominiques

Based on those wide light colored bars on it's wings, it looks like Henrietta is a Henry.

But all six of the clicks have dark washes on the front of their legs. Doesn't that mean they are all girls? And they are only 2 weeks old... so their color is changing everyday. (Not that I wouldn't mind a boy, just asking.)

Depending on the line different features are dominant; there may be text book perfect head spots, or dark legs, or overall lighter colored down on the male chicks, or just the wider bars on the primaries. Generally speaking, with the barred breeds the male is about half as dark as the female, which means that on a baby chick, the light bars are wider and more distinct on the wing feathers. The barring on Henrietta is so much brighter, with the light bars being so much wider than on the other four, I would suspect a cockerel. What does the head spot look like in relation to the other pullets?

Well, the lighter one is Clementine, so would be Clemence if a boy. 'Her' head spot looks the same as the others except 'she' had a brown dot in it. Both Clementine and Henrietta (who was darker) grew their wings and little tail feathers the fastest. And now, Henrietta's feathers are lightening, so she and Clementine are almost the same mix of white, gray and black. It's do fun to watch them change, and so quickly!

That's where I got mine as well... I have also read threads in here where they are the friendliest of all other people's birds, but I haven't found that true of mine.. How are your birds, friendly-wise?

Mine are a bit skiddish right now, but I hope it will get better. Every time I put my hand in the brooder to change water and feed, they run away. But they are only 3 weeks old. We will see how it goes. :) How old are yours? And are they growing at different rates? Some of mine are getting feathers earlier than the others.
