Dominique Thread!

These are my dom chicks. They are about 3 weeks old in these pics. Not positive on their gender but I am pretty sure we have at least one boy and one girl. The third has light coloring but is more feathered out and has smaller legs/feet. So she fits both boy and girl descriptions based on what I have read!

I'll post pics when we know for sure what they are. Can't keep boys so I'll have to do something with him if we do have a boy.

We currently have 7 sex links who are a year old. I hope they all get along well when they meet!

We think they are boy, girl, girl.

The left set of feet/legs is larger than the right. Also the left chick is about a week behind the other 2 on getting feathers.

Dominiques looking saurian or vulturine. Too cute. Table terrors.

Ours are not exactly SOP, but they are tough and hardy.
The thing that puzzled me early on was when they started fighting for position in the flock - I was beginning to wonder if I had all cockerels because of their fierce battles which looked like nothing so much as an old Currier & Ives cock fight print. They would leap at each other feet first, grab each other's combs and drag each other around - and then I noticed that no blood was spilled in these conflicts, and I couldn't find any injuries beyond maybe a missing feather or two. It seems like even the biddies have dramatic battles - that are more drama than injury

Had to share...my Dominique Abby Lee is sitting on six Dominique eggs...we have one external pip and one internal pip right now! Keep your fingers crossed for little Dominiques to arrive!

We have a baby Dominique! He/She hatched overnight. There is still one egg chirping and four more that seem developed but no sign of pipping on those. I'm so proud of my broody Dominique :)
