Dominique Thread!

No it has nor worsened. It could be because of my rooster, who now doesn't let any one in the flock eat with him or else he'll peck them. I don't suspect she's being bullied as the rest of her flockmates are her siblings and they've been together their whole life. She's also towards the top of the pecking order when the chickens are asserting themselves.

I don't mean to scare you but just because chick hatchmates grow up together doesn't mean they don't get into pecking order squabbles to downright battles as adults. There's not too much sentimental bonding with adult chickens as they are out to preserve their own well-being first and establish themselves within the ranks. A fostered LF chiick as an adult killed its own foster momma Silkie.

Meanwhile I hope you discover the problem with your Dom and that she heals. I have a vet 10 minutes away for my chickens; otherwise I'd be a shaking mess trying to diagnose or treat my own birds LOL!

He doesn't sound very nice!! Could be him or any girl higher than her. If i have time when I'm on my day off, I try to watch them in the morning as soon as I let them out. They run to their feed and I see who is being aggressive towards who so I can know my drama, see who is eating, getting bullied etc.... I have 3 pullets right now, 2 hens, and a rooster. My pullets and roo are constantly re-ordering themselves. My little Dom pullet is always last though, so I try to keep an eye out in case my rooster becomes to aggressive towards her. He's good so far...

Yeah, it's weird...he'll call everyone over when he finds food, but when he's eating feed or something out of the "chick bowl" he doesn't let anyone eat with him. He reminds me of a male lion

His two brothers were sweethearts though, until a fox got them. Of course they didn't mature as quickly as he did, he was always the alpha roo.

My sweet Demaris is laying an egg almost every day. She's the friendliest, sweetest chicken imaginable. She and a Wyandotte, Jane, both insist on using the same corner of the nest box. I was peeking one day and saw Demaris actually crawl under Jane to get to the prime corner location.
