I've wondered the same thing...Also, she's notably smaller than the other two that were born the same week (Sussex and an Americauna.)

My guess from the neck and back splashing and no visible dark beak spot that it's male -- let us know what it turns out to be!

My strain known to produce white Dominiques.

Feathersite.com has photos of White Doms. Apparently white sports happened in Java and Jersey Giants too so they started to breed them on purpose. Although white is pretty I don't like solid white birds for my backyard flock. My White Leghorn would turn dingy yellow with permanently stained dirty feathers so that she looked bedraggled until her next molt.

As for your hatchery comment, who knows what they do behind the scenes? I shudder to think how some might inhumanely dispose of surplus male chicks?
