They have the same barring as the others. Sometimes a recessed gene can come out

Something is not right with that rooster, mostly with tail being smokey and comb looking too flat. I think it is a cross involving another breed with extended black, possibly same as shown in background.

I think you are correct. He actually has some brown/copper feathers also.
I’m holding out to see if ‘he’ lays any eggs. I’m seeing rooster AND hen behaviors.

I got another one, Hobo won't be the lone dom for much longer. I wasn't set on getting another but I planned to add four or so birds to my flock and ended up hatching four boys and only one girl. I wasn't happy about that so I got a random hatchery assortment of four little girls that would mesh well and one of them is little Dutch here. She will be a week old on Monday.View attachment 1468782

Chicklets are always so fun! After the first day of leaving ours alone in their kiddie pool, they were nothing but bouncy active pesty little buggers and ran to us when they saw us approaching the kiddie pool! Pesty friendly little girls grew up way too fast!

I have 10 9 week old Dominique pullets hatchery kind and 3 of the 10 seem to be single comb.

I am gearing up to process about 40 American Dominiques. That represents about half of the young birds hatched this year. Another 20 will go in another month. A total of twelve will be kept over winter. The remaining dozen or so might be looking for a new home. They are not the best but certainly not culls either.

If you can please post pics! It helps to see what other Dom owners are facing as pros & cons with their projects. I love Doms so much it hurts to hear the word "process" but do understand it's a necessary part of any project.

I had them I liked them very much.unfortunately a dog killed my entire flock.
