It's the same chick in both pics and all four of my Dominique chicks appear to be males based on the head spots when they first hatched. Since I don't really know what I'm doing I'm still hoping for a hen. If they are all roosters they should provide four nice dinners and I'll hatch some more eggs next spring.

Miss Amy, and Pilara my Light Brahma, both about 6 months old, finding the front porch for the first time!

Do not waist a growing season on just four roosters for the table. Ask around, someone in your area is sure to have quality dominiques you can acquire as pullets.

This year is for learning and building and deciding what I want to do. I haven't had chickens in 25 years and I may not have any by next spring.

Right now I've got seven American games about eight weeks old, the four Dominiques and five Speckled Sussex that are three weeks old. One of my few virtues is patience, I will see where the road leads.

KenK,

By far and away, the most interesting are those American games. I grew up around them in the classical sense but finding they are much more interesting and possible invaluable in respect my interest in dominiques. American games retain many of the characteristics the American dominique was known for, namely the abilty to produce in a free range setting.
