off-grid hen
Songster
Here is a photo of one of my girls, Goosey at 14 weeks old. She has a bit of a deep voice, and cluck-honks. Her voice isn't as deep anymore, but now one of her sisters has started honking!
Anyway... check out how her tail is pointing to her left. I have a few questions about that... Will it effect her laying abilities and give her complications or make her more likely to get egg bound? Also, what could have caused it? I know she's a hatchery mutt and it could be genetic, but could it be diet? Maybe a fall off the roost? Anyone else have Doms with off-center tails? My husband noticed it when she was 5 weeks old, but I just noticed it last week. As she grows it has become more obvious.
Her comb hasn't really developed much, and she isn't at all red in the face, but yesterday she either submitted or was doing the egg squat. TWICE! She really is very sweet, and always has lots to say.
