Don’t put all of your eggs into one basket like me

Being the old fart (48) that I am

I’m rather set in my ways. I log onto the Web and always go to the same places for reviews, browsing and shopping

Last week, I went to Amazon looking for a specific book and found it. As always, when I’m on their site, I try and find enough to make the minimum and get the free shipping. Looking further, I found Raising Chickens for Dummies. I’ve intentionally never bought a book for “Dummies” as I couldn’t allow myself to do so (testosterone, Y chromosome, you know). Anyhow, I read the reviews and noticed a pattern. The majority mentioned the book was worth the price for the Web-site on the cover alone. I zoomed in on the cover and it said, “with Rob Ludlow - Owner, BackYardChickens.com”. I added the book to my cart and paid. I then directed my browser to the recommended Web-site and that’s when I realized I may have saved five bucks in shipping, but my old buying habits actually cost me much more. By not making my purchase directly from BYC, I missed out on several wonderful incentives or perks

I didn’t know just how much at first, but having been on the BYC site everyday since and logging close to forty hours now, I am all too aware. In the interest of space, I won’t list them all, but PLEASE do yourself a favor and follow this link to the book on BYC (https://www.backyardchickens.com/raising-chickens-for-dummies.php) I wish I had. In closing, all is not lost for me. I received my books from Amazon today and Raising Chickens for Dummies looks like an awesome read

My hubby tried to do the very same thing with just adding somthing to get the free shipping on amazon. Then I told him about here so now maybe he wont think im so crazy for being on here so much....okay well thats a long shot but hey I can try
