Being the old fart (48) that I am
Im rather set in my ways. I log onto the Web and always go to the same places for reviews, browsing and shopping
Last week, I went to Amazon looking for a specific book and found it. As always, when Im on their site, I try and find enough to make the minimum and get the free shipping. Looking further, I found Raising Chickens for Dummies. Ive intentionally never bought a book for Dummies as I couldnt allow myself to do so (testosterone, Y chromosome, you know). Anyhow, I read the reviews and noticed a pattern. The majority mentioned the book was worth the price for the Web-site on the cover alone. I zoomed in on the cover and it said, with Rob Ludlow - Owner, BackYardChickens.com. I added the book to my cart and paid. I then directed my browser to the recommended Web-site and thats when I realized I may have saved five bucks in shipping, but my old buying habits actually cost me much more. By not making my purchase directly from BYC, I missed out on several wonderful incentives or perks
I didnt know just how much at first, but having been on the BYC site everyday since and logging close to forty hours now, I am all too aware. In the interest of space, I wont list them all, but PLEASE do yourself a favor and follow this link to the book on BYC (https://www.backyardchickens.com/raising-chickens-for-dummies.php) I wish I had. In closing, all is not lost for me. I received my books from Amazon today and Raising Chickens for Dummies looks like an awesome read
Good luck to all of you with your flocks and see you around
