This morning, five big moose had gathered just outside my parents' backyard. I quietly snuck up to them to get a photo.
This was about as close I could get; the moose started to get worried.
However, when it came to worrying them, I suspect I was not the main culprit.
Our chickens were let out to free range at the time. My mother, standing some 60 feet behind me, snapped a photo of me as I tried to photograph the moose. You can vaguely make me out to the right, standing in a small depression behind an oak. And as you can see, the chickens followed me at my heels, many yards further into the woods than they've ever ventured before.
Ten chickens that scratch, cluck and occasionally let out a loud "yarp"... Yes, I can imagine that's actually scarier to a moose than one human sitting completely still.
So yeah, I believe I got "cock-blocked" here. Still, it was a nice experience. Enjoy your Sunday!
