Don't know egg age in incubator

Well Mort has been moved to the big chick brooder. It's a 55gallon aquarium that I haven't used in years. He kept getting on top of his food and pooping in it, but the paper towel roll seems to have dissuaded that. Wings are almost fully feathered, feather coming in on his shoulders and tail is halfway feathered. Hoping this all points to a pullet. Fingers crossed. Also my dog Amun is very intrigued, he's never been near chicks or chickens before.

Yay Mort! Have y'all been ok through the storm?
Had some brown outs, but no power loss yet, though neighbors have been losing power. The incubator is currently at a friends house because I tend to lose power more than them, but after tomorrow things should be over, they're already calming down significantly.

Great to read that!

I also hope Mort will be a hen for you. With everything going on you have to worry about Morts brothers and sister in the incubator and hoping it don't go out of your friends. We all wait patiently to hear what happened.

Honestly I was indeed most worried about the eggs in incubator. If I had lost power, Mort would've been fine because it would've been warm in the house. I checked in with my friend earlier and she said the incubator was holding at 99F, little low since I have it set to be 100.5F, but still perfectly acceptable. They run their house cooler than I run mine so I assume that why it's a little cooler than normal. Course since I went through the effort to move the eggs, I never lost power, but I can guarantee if I hadn't taken them over there, I would have lol. Planning to pick them up tomorrow or Wednesday, there's some flooding down by their location so it'll depend on when it recedes. Their power is completely fine, not even any brown out's.

I am glad they are doing well and there was no power outage where they are vacationing right now. I am glad this storm didn't do much damage to your home either. Let the water go down don't take a chance getting stuck. Its better to be safe then sorry.

Put my eggs into lockdown, it's day 14, but I've read some people initiate lockdown early and have really successful hatches. So trying it and we'll see what happens. The eggs are home back home now :). It was AWFUL being separated from them, luckily I have good friends and they updated me twice a day while they had them to let me know the temp. Candled as soon as I got home because I was super worried they would've cracked during the bumpy ride to and from my friends place, but nope, everyone intact and kicking.
