Don't know if it is sour crop vs eggbound

I have a 18 month hen who has not eaten, crop is soft and 'full', poop really loose, and somewhat lethargic. Administered Nutri-Drench. So, I expected her to be gone, but she's here this morning 7/18/25. I had experience with water belly and took a 16g needle to her. Egg yolk came dripping out and when I pushed on her belly, she really tried to push out and I suppose lay an egg. Hope I didn't do her harm, but she seems fine, as they would till its really too late I guess. Any input?

I'm sorry about your hen, how is she doing?

With you drawing egg yolk from the abdomen instead of fluid, she may have Egg Yolk Peritonitis or some other reproductive problem, it can be hard to know unless you lose them and investigate further either by doing your own necropsy or sending the body to your state lab.

I'd give her 300mg Calcium Citrate+D3 once daily for 5 days to see if she's able to expel an egg or lash material.

Giving the Nutri-Drench for a few days is a good idea as well.
