I know it's a little too early to know the gender of a 3 week old Wyandotte. But what would be things to watch out for?

View attachment 899150 View attachment 899160 View attachment 899168 Can anyone verify that this Hawkeye is a hen? It's supposed to be an amerucana.... it's super skittish but wasn't handled from hatching - we got her at about 5 weeks old- she's now about 3 months. Confused only because her tail feathers are starting to curl a bit and she's just so skittish. Thanks so much !
I'm thinking pullet do to her comb and feather pattern, yes some hens may get a few curved tail feathers here and there. Is her comb a three row pea comb?

any help is welcome!! I am set on my buff orpington. But I am curious about by large white girls and my Black and white girls. The large white girls were sold as Leghorns...but I think I only got one leghorn and my black & White girls were sold as black orpingtons. Im thinking they are either Barred or Dominique. That really big white one with the really thick legs is a Cornish cross.

I have a few for you if you're game!

This chick (and all pictured below) is just over 2 weeks old. She looked like my other Welsummer chick at first, but a bit bigger...and now there seem to be speckles appearing?

This one below is the Welsummer chick the one above looked like for a while...no tail feathers to speak of yet though...another BYC member is pretty sure I have a cockerel...never hurts to get a second opinion? ;-) I think I'm probably just in denial on this one...

The next two are the same chick...supposed to be a standard White Cochin...same age as everybody else, but definitely smaller. Do you think I got a Bantam by mistake? And do you think cockerel or pullet? Second pic is aerial shot for comparison :)

Thanks for any input you have to give!

they havent tried to crow though... what makes you think theyre roosters? their combs havent developed much at all.
They both have really thick short beaks and their legs look really thick. Their combs are also really red and big. A females would be orange and smaller at that age.
